Job summary

Publix Super Markets, Inc. is looking for a senior software engineer to join our technology team in a hybrid Lakeland, FL role.

You will help design and deliver scalable enterprise applications across our store network, leveraging React front-ends and .NET backends with SQL databases and Kafka-based data streams. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related analytical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building enterprise applications with C# and .NET.
• 1+ years of experience developing enterprise apps with C# and modern .NET (.NET 8 or later).
• 1+ years of SQL experience including database design, query optimization, and ORM use (Dapper or Entity Framework).
• 1+ years of frontend React.js with backend APIs integration.
• 1+ year in Agile environments and using Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, CI/CD.
• Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven applications.

Your Impact

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience developing modern frontend React.js frameworks integrated with backend APIs
• 1+ year of experience working in Agile environments and utilizing Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, code delivery, and CI/CD support.
• Experience designing and supporting event-driven applications using Apache Kafka, including message production, consumption, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in reviewing and approving design of complex technical solutions working with architects and other company resources

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes (K3), Docker, or other containerization technologies such as OpenShift
• Experience planning, organizing, and managing projects and projects teams
• Experience or desire to work in event-based/micro-service style architecture
• Experience with .NET 10
• Experience with Kafka Connect and Kafka Smart Router

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
