Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, with hybrid work options in select cities. The role requires at least a bachelor’s in a related field and 5+ years of Java development experience, plus proficiency with Spring Boot, RESTful services, SQL, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

You will contribute to backend services that power payments platforms and data pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education and/ or experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years direct experience in Software Engineering or related experience in Java development.
• Proficient with Git source control and Git flow branching model.
• Spring / Spring boot framework is required.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity writing automated tests.
• Proficient with SQL.
• Proficient in RESTful service design.
• Experience with Docker/ Kubernetes.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Background and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

• Payments or Ecommerce experience
• Recent AWS Cloud experience
• Experience with Rest/SOAP services.
• Familiar working with common data format standards like XML, JSON, YAML, etc.
• NoSQL experience (Redis, HBASE, AeroSpike, etc.)
• FinTech experience is highly beneficial

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. The Base Pay Scale For This Position In

San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $142,000 - $183,000.
