Addepar is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for Investor Solutions to help design, build, and optimize our next-generation Research Platform. The role covers big data in Databricks, web applications, and related technologies across a small, growing team.

You’ll own architectural work, mentor teammates, and help build resilient, high-throughput systems for institutional investments, measuring risk and benchmarking analytics across large global portfolios.

The Role

Addepar holds an extensive financial dataset, and the Research Engineering team works with financial researchers to turn it into insight. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and optimize our next-generation Research Platform. The work spans big data in Databricks, web applications, and everything in between.

We’re a small, growing team that values collaboration and learning. You’ll work on enterprise risk calculation engines and private fund analytics and benchmarking tools. These tools handle large data volumes and complex asset classes. Institutional investors use them to measure, model, and manage risk across billions of dollars in global portfolios.

As our global footprint grows, we want a senior engineer to lead key architectural work, mentor teammates, and help build resilient, high-throughput systems. If you like owning technical problems, keep learning, and write clear, maintainable code that supports our expansion, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Work across the stack, including Python, Databricks, Java, and web technologies


• Take projects through the full software lifecycle: design, architecture, prototyping, development, release, iteration, and monitoring


• Build new systems and improve existing ones, from small fixes to large projects


• Partner with researchers and product managers to shape the platform’s direction


• Share knowledge through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring

Who You Are- Required

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience


• Strong experience with Python or Java


• Experience designing and operating production systems


• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical collaborators

Helpful, but not required

• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or other large-scale data processing


• Experience with web application development


• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure


• Familiarity with financial data, risk analytics, or investment concepts

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this role within the United States.

Compensation for this role includes base salary + bonus + equity + benefits.

Base Salary Range

$134,000 - $209,000 USD
