Overview
Insurance touches people during challenging moments. Hi Marley is transforming how the P&C industry communicates, making those moments faster, easier, and more empathetic for carriers and customers. We build AI-powered software that keeps everyone in the claims conversation informed and connected.
We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer II — Mobile Platform to lead the technical direction of our React Native app used by adjusters and policyholders on iOS and Android in enterprise environments (Microsoft Intune/MAM, Okta, MSAL). This is an established codebase. You will raise its bar for security, dependencies, CI/CD, and documentation, with significant autonomy, mentoring, and ownership for keeping the app secure, current, and shippable.
Teamwork and enthusiasm are core to our culture, and this role requires in-person collaboration at our Boston office for 2-3 days per week.
What You’ll Do
- Lead on the mobile app. Serve as a senior engineer and technical leader across iOS and Android — contributing to feature development, architecture, dependencies, release, and production support.
- Keep authentication and compliance strong and consistent. Maintain and extend authentication flows (Okta, MSAL broker) and device-compliance integrations (Intune MDM/MAM). Respond to infosec and app-store compliance findings. Ensure PII and sensitive data are handled responsibly in logs and at rest.
- Build secure, reliable session handling. Apply and extend patterns for on-device storage, token refresh, re-authentication, session expiry, and sign-out across iOS, Android, and Intune policies.
- Modernize and maintain the stack. Keep React Native, native modules, and third-party libraries current and secure. Drive SDK and OS-version upgrades, reduce technical debt, and strengthen linting, type checks, and automated tests.
- Advance our delivery pipeline. Improve CI/CD automation, quality and security gates, and signed release flows. Manage code signing, credentials, and versioning with enterprise rigor.
- Write durable documentation. Keep architecture docs, authentication and Intune runbooks, local dev setup, and release processes current for fast onboarding, incident response, and carrier integrations.
- Partner cross-functionally. Translate compliance and business requirements into reliable mobile experiences with Security, DevOps, and Product. Provide thoughtful code reviews and guidance to other engineers.
- Support the app in production. Lead release health monitoring, crash/error triage, and app-store review responses. Serve as an escalation point for mobile issues.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (or 4+ with a Master’s, or equivalent) with a track record shipping production mobile applications.
- Deep React Native / Expo experience, with comfort going native — Xcode/CocoaPods, iOS build and signing, Android/Gradle, and native module work. Familiarity with custom native bridges; depth on one platform with curiosity about the other.
- Proven mobile CI/CD and release engineering — automating builds and store delivery to TestFlight and Google Play (EAS Build/Submit, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, etc.), managing certificates and provisioning, and running OTA updates.
- Strong security mindset with hands-on mobile authentication experience (OAuth/OIDC, Okta, MSAL/Microsoft identity) and ideally mobile device/app management (Intune MDM/MAM) and secure PII handling in regulated environments.
- Current with the mobile ecosystem. You track platform changes, security developments, and tooling and bring that knowledge to the codebase proactively.
- Strong judgment and autonomy. You work across a broad scope, recognize connections in the codebase and toolchain, and drive improvements.
- Durability and clarity. You leave the codebase, pipeline, and docs better, and write things down for the team to build on.
- Collaborative, low-ego approach. You communicate openly, support teammates, and take shared accountability for outcomes.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. At this time we can only consider candidates who are authorized to work in the U.S. and do not require sponsorship now or in the future.
