Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a software engineer to design and implement a web-based UI for a surgical robotics product. You will modernize AWS services and databases, apply best practices including continuous testing, and work with systems engineering and QA to define software requirements.

Required experience includes WASM, SpringBoot, HTML5, AWS ECS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and medical device software with FDA/ISO/IEC guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related technical area.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing application software.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, Python).
• Strong object-oriented design/analysis with UML.
• Strong communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with agile software development.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing a new web-based user interface for a surgical robotics product.
• Reviewing existing AWS cloud services and database structures in order to recommend and implement modernization and improvement initiatives.
• Utilizing development best practices, including continuous software testing.
• Acquiring and maintaining domain expertise of relevant software technologies and products.
• Working with systems engineering & software QA teams to generate software requirements, design specifications, and assist with software test methods.

Required experience

• Experience building modern web applications using technologies such as WebAssembly (WASM), SpringBoot, HTML5, etc., preferred.
• Experience analyzing existing services, APIs, and infrastructure in an AWS environment in order to recommend and implement modernization initiatives according to AWS best practices.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services such as ECS preferred.
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL preferred.
• Experience working with container technologies such as Docker preferred.
• Experience developing medical device software within FDA, ISO, and IEC guideline preferred.

Required skills

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical area.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing application software required.
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, or Python.
• Demonstrated skills in Object-Oriented Design and Analysis, with the use of UML required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams required.
• Familiarity with agile software development required.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% required.

The base pay range for this position is:

$118,300 - $162,668

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
