Socket.dev is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer focused on GenAI and Machine Learning to build SaaS-native, multi-tenant backends. Hybrid work from our Coppell, TX office, with onsite interviews only. 6+ years in software development, strong Python/Java, and AI/ML experience are required.

You will develop backend services, integrate with ERP/inventory systems, and drive scalable microservices while collaborating with stakeholders and using modern CI/CD pipelines. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Proficient with backend development with Python including API development and performance engineering.
• Apply ML/data science techniques to improve forecast accuracy.
• Provide direct customer support – troubleshoot issues and escalations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into delivered features.
• Use GitHub Copilot and other coding agents to accelerate delivery from Jira to PR.
• Contribute to GenAI agent development for supply chain use cases.

Overview

Blue Yonder Retail Planning is a comprehensive software product designed to optimize and streamline the retail planning process. Leveraging advanced algorithms and AI, it empowers retailers to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and create accurate merchandise plans. With its robust features for assortment planning, replenishment optimization, and sales forecasting, Blue Yonder Retail Planning enables retailers to enhance their operational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and drive profitability in a dynamic retail environment. We are looking for an astute individual with experience building and designing SaaS-native, and multi-tenant applications using microservices.

Looking for an experienced backend software engineer in Python/Java who has experience in area of AI/ML in general. Ideal candidate would be well experienced with usage of GenAI for coding, building software while adhering best practices.

Scope / Responsibilities

• Proficient with backend development with python including API development, performance engineering, logging/telemetry.
• Apply ML/data science techniques (forecasting models, deep meta-learning) to improve forecast accuracy.
• Provide direct customer support – troubleshoot issues, handle escalations, and ensure planning outputs meet customer needs.
• Partner closely with stakeholders and customer/account management teams to translate requirements into delivered features.
• Use GitHub Copilot and other coding agents to accelerate delivery, from JIRA issue to merged, reviewed PR.
• Contribute to GenAI agent development for supply chain planning use cases
• Develop, enhance, and maintain the backend components of the Blue Yonder Retail Planning product, utilizing technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of the backend systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the software product.
• Integrate the Blue Yonder Retail Planning product with external systems, such as ERP and inventory management systems, by designing and implementing robust APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange and communication.
• Implement efficient data management strategies, including secure storage, retrieval, and processing of large volumes of retail data, utilizing SQL and NoSQL databases, and optimizing system performance.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to design and implement comprehensive testing frameworks, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues reported by customers, addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring system stability.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices in backend development, actively contributing to the continuous improvement and innovation of the Blue Yonder Retail Planning product.

What we are looking for

• We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes to join our team:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 6+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong programming skills and a solid background in Python coding .
• Strong AI/ML software development experience – forecasting, applied data science.
• Proven ability to work directly with stakeholders and customer/account management teams

• Basic understanding of virtualization and experience with private, hybrid, and public cloud computing concepts. Familiarity with major cloud hosting platforms, particularly Azure, is preferred.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Cloud, as well as messaging systems like Apache Kafka and Azure Event Hub.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Snowflake.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• A proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends and technologies.

The Salary Range for this position is $ 114,103.81 to $143,896.18

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
