Job summary

ThriftBooks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain our primary customer-facing ecommerce applications. You will work with a collaborative team to deliver scalable software, mentor engineers, and influence platform evolution.

You will develop features with React, C#, and SQL Server, ensuring performance and reliability while participating in architectural decisions and code reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications, with preference for React, C#, SQL, Next.js.
• Strong experience with relational databases, including schema design, complex queries, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of full-stack web development and how browsers and the internet work.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
• Preferred qualifications include Terraform, Azure, and modern CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build features for thriftbooks.com, typically using C#, React, and SQL Server.
• Maintain performance, scalability, and reliability across thriftbooks.com features and infrastructure.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
• Review code, provide constructive feedback, and mentor other engineers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, participate in on-call rotations, and resolve production issues as needed.
