Job summary

Mobomo is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Engineer to join our backend and infrastructure efforts. This remote role within the DMV area requires a self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision and deliver robust cloud-based solutions.

You will design, develop, and test backend features, maintain Kubernetes deployments, and optimize CI/CD pipelines while integrating scientific software into production systems. A Bachelor's in a STEM field is required.

Job description

Mobomo is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Engineer who can operate independently, require minimal oversight, and immediately contribute to backend development and infrastructure efforts. This role is ideal for someone who can execute on unknown requirements while proactively identifying and solving emerging technical challenges. It requires an individual who can operate in a context where nearly all requirements may be undefined, aside from the expected end outcome. With minimal supervision, this person must rely on their abilities to determine, design, and develop the solution they believe is best.

Location: Remote within the DMV area (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia) with in-person meetings throughout the year at our DC office

Clearance: Must be able to obtain a US government clearance

What We're Looking For

• Self-starter who can jump in quickly and deliver with little direction
• Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving team
• Able to identify gaps, anticipate needs, and take ownership of solutions
• Strong problem solver who can adapt as requirements evolve
