Job summary

Saliense is hiring a Lead Software Developer to lead design and development of complex software solutions on our program at the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, VA.

The role is 100% onsite (5 days/week at ONR in Arlington) and requires a Secret clearance to start. US citizenship or naturalization is required for eligibility; you will drive architecture decisions, review code, and mentor a development team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 3 years in a lead developer role.
• Active Secret Clearance or current interim
• IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
• AWS, Linux, Server+ or equivalent certifications

Responsibilities

• Define and implement software architecture and design patterns to meet business and tech requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes for efficiency and quality.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, scalable code and lead code reviews and QA practices.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Optimize software for performance, scalability, and security; collaborate with PM, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to deliver with minimal disruptions.

Saliense is now hiring a Lead Software Developer to lead the design and development of complex software solutions on our program at the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, VA.

The responsibilities for this Lead Full Stack Developer will include:

• Defining and implementing software architecture and design patterns that meet business needs and technical requirements.
• Evaluating and recommending tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality.
• Writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Leading by example, ensuring that code reviews and quality assurance practices are adhered to.
• Identifying and resolving complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs.
• Optimizing software for performance, scalability, and security.Will work closely with the project manager, product owners, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Identifies potential risks and issues related to software development and implements mitigation strategies. Ensures the PDS project is delivered with minimal disruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development with a proven track record of successfully delivering multiple software projects through the full software lifecycle.
• At least 3 years as a lead developer.
• Active Secret Clearance or current interim
• IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security + or equivalent)
• Computing environment certification (e.g., Server+, Linux+, AWS Certified Developer (or equivalent)

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience with software design patterns, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, project management tools, and practices.
• Experience with API development.
• Experience with modern development frameworks and tools (e.g., .Net Core, ASP.Net, Identity framework, Entity framework, MVC (Model, View, Controller), Blazor, Fluentui).
• Experience with database management (SQL Server) and data modeling.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Native Services, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Elastic Container Registry, Elastic Container Service, Elastic Kubernetes Service
• Familiarity with DISA application development STIGs and well versed in DOD information assurance policies and regulation
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate a development team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient solutions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $163,000

The salary range listed for this position is based on multiple factors, including relevant years of experience, education, certifications, specialized skills, security clearance level, and overall alignment with the role’s requirements. The final compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
