Overall Purpose

Develops, documents, tests, debugs, and maintains data and analytics engineering solutions for Paze. Provides expertise and familiarity in software tools, frameworks, and best practices in secure software engineering.

Essential Functions

  1. Builds and maintains data engineering solutions for batch and stream processing.
  2. Develops advanced analytic solutions using BI and ML tools.
  3. Builds infrastructure components required for Data and Analytics.
  4. Provides continuous integration and deployment of data solutions.
  5. Develops and implements tests for ensuring the quality, performance, and scalability of our application.
  6. Able to identify and troubleshoot complex production issues for Support and Operations teams.
  7. Collaborates and partners with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to conceptualize and build new features and create product descriptions.
  8. Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years direct experience in Software Engineering or related experience.
  3. Two (2) or more years’ experience in the development of Data Warehouse, Big Data – structured and unstructured platforms, real-time & batch processing, and data standards.
  4. Ability to influence and work in a collaborative team environment.
  5. Working experience with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, etc.).
  6. Knowledge of mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding, etc.).
  7. Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Lean, etc.) and DevOps practices.
  8. Excellent written and spoken communication.
  9. Must be a US Citizen or US National.
  10. Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Additional related education and/or work experience preferred.
  2. Large Scale Cloud Data Lake/Warehouse transformation.
  3. AWS Cloud experience in Streaming, Batch Data Management.
  4. Redshift or other large warehouse Management experience.
  5. Advanced SQL and Analytics.
  6. BI tools like Tableau, Quicksight.
  7. Data Governance and Quality Controls.
  8. Computer language experience (Python, PySpark, and R).
  9. Monitoring and Alerting systems experience (AppDynamics, Splunk, etc.).
  10. AWS certification in Solution Architecture/Analytics.
  11. FinTech experience is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

Compensation

The base pay scale for this position in:

Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $120,000 - $140,000.
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $120,000 - $160,000.

Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
