Job description

To help guide the collaborative effort, we are in search of a Software Engineer III to join our team.

What's the Role?

The Planning Solutions team builds the suite of applications that takes the company's vision of being at the center of the financial lives of our clients forward. The PS engineering space is divided into various teams that work across the stack to deliver functionality to the business, starting from the front-end UI to the back-end financial planning and modelling platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on initiatives that span across various areas of the platform and work with teams that specialize in a broad range of areas in the stack. The primary responsibility of this team is to enhance and optimize the data flows for the organization. You will be involved in design and implementation of data schema changes and data pipelines that streamline data flow for the org. The vision for this team is to implement data engineering solutions that are robust, optimized, and are implemented with enterprise vision of integration across various platforms in mind. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with enterprise level engineering teams who define broader guidelines for solutioning and use these guidelines to implement solutions in the Planning Solutions space. The team is also responsible for building data transformation solutions with scalability and future proofing in mind. The epics that are road mapped for this team will set the stage of the overall data strategy for the org. You will also have the opportunity to delve into other areas of the stack which include the UI (React), middle tier (Node, Java, Spring Boot), and backend (MongoDB, Postgres, S3). Our team is composed of engineers who thrive in a highly collaborative team environment designed to solve complex problems. As a senior engineer on the team, you will help build a full stack team that can work on a varying set of initiatives defined by the business requirements. You will help create a team culture that aligns with the values of the company and our organization. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements holistic solutions utilizing working relationships across the enterprise.

  • Designs, organizes, and executes high impact solutions across teams both within and outside their division.

  • Establishes, aggregates, and shares enterprise standards and best practices.

  • Provides technical direction to the team.

  • Ensures production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis is executed for their products.

  • Mentors and guides junior engineers within respective division.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience working in a complex financial modeling domain.

  • Experience developing and leading solution delivery using Agile methods.

  • Ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.

  • Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture.

  • Experience with data modeling and data transformation.

  • Experience with Financial Programming

  • A track record of delivering high-quality software in the FinTech space and experience engineering complex systems

  • Ability to work independently as well as lead a small team of developers

  • Experience working in an enterprise software environment (CI/CD, K8s, Docker, etc.)

  • Financial planning or modeling experience in an OO/FP programming language, particularly for the JVM

  • Technical skills: Spring Boot, React/Node, MongoDB, Data modeling, S3, REST, Domain APIs, Postgres, Business Events.

  • Bonus: Functional programming paradigms and design patterns (experience in Scala, Haskell, etc.), AWS experience, infrastructure-design/application architecture experience

  • BS/MS or higher in Computer Science or related field of study

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$102,060.00

Pay Range - End:

$189,540.00

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

However, final salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidate; the current market; location of the candidate; and other factors uncovered in the hiring process.
