Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the Ad Serving team.

The role focuses on building software that powers the Ad Serving DSP, handling billions of ad auctions per day, and executing fast bidding strategies across multiple customers and channels. You will design, own, and deliver high-quality software, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with management and other developers to continuously improve the platform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience with compiled languages (C++ preferred), databases, and network programming.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Proficient with code versioning tools such as Git.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a large, complex environment.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Go lang experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and owning servers and cloud-based systems.
• Write, maintain, and deploy cloud-based software and distributed computational systems on Linux.
• Develop software and software architecture using C++.
• Plan and execute development, testing, and deployment of new features with scalable design patterns.
• Use data warehouses including Snowflake, and distributed databases such as Aerospike.
• Analyze and optimize algorithm performance; document development activity.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; determine integration needs.
• Work with the QA team to ensure applications fit specifications.

Salary

Virginia Pay Range: $141,850.78 - $212,776.16
