Sr. Software Engineer (C++ Embedded) – Autonomous Construction + Mining Vehicle Startup – Up to $180k base (+ equity)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ embedded software modules for various aspects of our self-driving car system, including sensor drivers, data pre-processing, algorithm deployment, etc.
• Optimize code for efficiency, reliability, and scalability to meet performance requirements in real-time and resource-constrained environments.
• Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices within the software team.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure the stability and robustness of our software stack.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply relevant advancements to our development process.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for automotive embedded software development, such as ISO 26262.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, integration, and QA, to define software requirements, and implement feature enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in software development
• Proficiency in C++ (C++11, 14, or 17) programming languages, with experience in embedded Linux environments
• Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures, including microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
