Qualifications

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life

Pelvic Health Therapies develops technologies that help patients manage chronic conditions and improve quality of life through connected therapies and digital health solutions. This role is part of the software engineering organization responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web and mobile applications that support therapy delivery, patient engagement, and clinical outcomes in a regulated medical device environment.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, verification, and maintenance of web and mobile software solutions that support Pelvic Health Therapies. You will work across the software development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant digital products in a regulated medical device environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of software solutions spanning web and mobile platforms.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and implement production‑grade web applications.
  • Build and maintain backend microservices and frontend user interfaces using established architectural standards.
  • Translate business and system requirements into technical designs and software implementations.
  • Implement software features using secure coding practices and established development standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, technical leads, systems engineers, quality engineers, security teams, and UI/UX engineers throughout product development.
  • Develop and execute software verification activities, including test design and test case development.
  • Support software lifecycle activities from planning and design through implementation, verification, and product release.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR PhD
  • Experience developing production‑grade software solutions using Java and JavaScript
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript and/or Kotlin
  • Experience with one of the following web frameworks: Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Angular, RxJS
  • Knowledge of one or more messaging and streaming solutions like ActiveMQ, Amazon SQS, and Kafka
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling
  • Experience building applications for high availability and scalability.
  • Experience partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders, such as UI/UX Engineers, Product Owners, and Architects throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience authoring software requirements and translating them into comprehensive verification strategies, test designs, and test cases.
  • Experience participating in the complete software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, verification, and product release.
  • Familiarity with regulated software development environments and industry standards for medical device software.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.

Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$124,800.00 - $187,200.00

This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long‑term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well‑being program).
