Job Description

Project Kuiper aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing high-speed, low-latency broadband to underserved communities worldwide. Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) develops secure satellite communications technologies supporting US National and International security and defense.

This role involves designing, building, and maintaining foundational software that extends Kuiper capabilities to US Government clients, including NASA, DoD, and international agencies. You will develop software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications, coordinating with external systems reliably and at scale.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, addressing complex challenges in secure satellite communications, requiring expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software, and proficiency in modern languages like Rust. Collaboration with hardware, security, systems, and product teams is essential to develop scalable, real-time solutions for government clients.

This position is based in Redmond, WA, El Segundo, CA, or Northridge, CA, with U.S. relocation benefits. Onsite work is required five days a week due to project sensitivity. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to meet government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high data rate packet processing systems using network layer packet processing and Software Defined Networking.
• Demonstrate interface and architecture capabilities in simulated test environments.
• Address complex technical problems related to the Kuiper constellation for government clients.
• Lead teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, security, and interoperability standards.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders.
• Escalate and resolve urgent issues promptly.
• Document and visualize results for multidisciplinary teams.
