Job summary

Henpen Corporation in Chantilly, VA seeks a Sr. Software Development Engineer Imagery with Top Secret clearance to advance GIS and remote sensing software for defense and intelligence workflows.

You will build, test, and release sophisticated imagery software supporting DOA/IC users, with emphasis on MS/HSI, TIR, RADAR, LiDAR, and FMV data processing and analysis.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience on imagery applications.
  • Proficiency in C++ or C#.
  • Applied experience with remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, or image analysis.
  • Experience in defense/intelligence communities.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI access potential.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, geography, engineering, remote sensing, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Understand DoD and IC requirements and develop GIS and remote sensing software for defense scenarios.
  • Solve complex problems and deliver robust user experiences.
  • Develop image processing capabilities for modalities like EO MS/HSI, TIR, Radar, and motion imagery.
  • Create software for defense formats such as NITF, TFRD, MISB video (FMV).
  • Develop radiometric image processing, photogrammetric components, and workflows.
  • Collaborate to integrate toolkits into ArcGIS (AGITK, MSP, and more).

Job Description

Apply your software development experience to build and release our software technologies focused on the intersection between GIS, photogrammetry and remote sensing for the defense and intelligence communities.

In this role, you will work with a talented team of software developers and product engineers to create, build, test, and release advanced software technologies focused on imagery users.

This is an exciting opportunity to focus your development skills on imagery sources to include MS and HSI, TIR, RADAR, LiDAR, Full Motion Video (FMV), and other remotely sensed data and information.

The work will focus on an analytical capability that will further the efficacy of remote sensing in a GIS.

Responsibilities
  • Understand U.S. DoD and intelligence community user requirements and develop appropriate GIS and remote sensing software for various defense and intelligence scenarios
  • Solve and articulate complex problems to development and build awesome user experiences
  • Develop rich image processing and analysis capabilities for multiple modalities including EO MS and HSI, TIR, Radar, and motion imagery
  • Develop industry-leading software for common defense and intelligence formats such as NITF, TFRD, and MISB compliant video (FMV)
  • Develop advanced image processing components, algorithms, and APIs
  • Develop advanced radiometric image processing, photogrammetric software components, workflows, and user experiences
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate community toolkits and libraries into ArcGIS (AGITK, MSP, and more)
Requirements
  • 5+ years of software development experience working on COTS or GOTS imagery applications
  • Professional experience and proficiency in C++ or C#
  • Applied experience with remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, and/or image analysis application development
  • Experience in the defense and/or intelligence communities
  • Active U.S. Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI level access
  • Bachelors in computer science, geography, engineering, remote sensing, photogrammetry, or related field
Recommended Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in computer science, remote sensing or other engineering/scientific discipline
  • Experience using Esri APIs
  • Experience in processing pipeline optimization
  • Familiarity with the NITF format and specifications
  • Experience with ArcGIS, ENVI, Socet GXP, or RemoteView
