As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Device OS organization, you will own the implementation and delivery of Device OS crash data collection and metrics. This role offers the opportunity to influence, invent, and design system architecture across multiple product and technology spaces (Alexa devices, IoT devices, Smart TV, etc.). You will join a team dedicated to supporting state-of-the-art technologies through flexible software architectures, OS and Hardware Platform abstraction, testability, and scalability across various device types.
You will work cross-functionally and cross-organizationally to conceive and design innovative solutions. You will analyze ambiguous problem spaces, distill design choices, trade-offs, and priorities. A data-driven approach and obsession with performance in resource-constrained environments are essential. You will share best practices, influence teams, and act as a technical ambassador for software reuse within Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one programming language
• 5+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
