Amazon is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer for AWS Billing in Seattle, WA. You will design, build, and operate high‑scale backend services, implementing robust, scalable solutions across billing data processing and analytics.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and collaborate with customers and teams to deliver high‑quality features on AWS billing platforms.

The AWS Billing provides the back‑ and front‑end services that enable AWS customers to purchase AWS services and manage their infrastructure costs. Join our team to tackle scalability, performance, and distributed computing challenges. We process trillions of events per month using Kinesis, billions of line items via EMR, and manage artifacts with DynamoDB and Aurora. We provide big‑data tools for customers to interactively understand their bills and offer analytics that help customers manage billions of dollars of IT usage and spending. Working at the nexus of all AWS services, we collaborate across teams to deliver a great customer experience.

As an engineer, you will design, build, and operate services that help AWS meet customer needs. Delivering a reliable, high‑performance service at AWS scale requires teamwork, technical expertise, and creativity. You are expected to interact with customers, other teams, and innovate rapidly, delivering high‑quality functionality. You are creative, curious, responsible, and able to work with others to turn ideas into code. Passionate about coding, implementing big ideas, and coaching teammates to elevate code quality, you want to grow technically and help AWS grow. Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
