Job description

Sr Software Development Engineer, Amazon Connect

Job ID: 2959630 | Amazon.com Services LLC

As part of the AWS Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.

Are you interested in being part of a team of software engineers tasked with building new features and maintaining an AWS service that intersect cloud computing, Big Data, machine learning, and customer engagement? Do you enjoy the challenge of building and managing innovative services? Do you want to make an impact at a global scale? Then you should join our team!

AWS Entity Resolution (AER) launched in GA in July 2023 to help companies easily match, link, and enhance related records across multiple applications and data stores to improve data quality so that they can better understand and engage their customers. The solution offers advanced matching techniques, such as rule-based matching and machine learning (ML) models to help customers more accurately link related sets of customer information. As a senior engineer on this team, you will be responsible for leading the technical design efforts across the team, owning and playing a lead role in operational excellence, mentorship, leading projects that scale across the service and providing technical guidance to leadership.

Key job responsibilities

You need to be creative, responsible, and able to dive deep into emerging serverless AWS technologies. You will think about business opportunities, operational issues, architectural diagrams, scalability, security, and the customer perspective in the course of a single conversation. You have a deep mastery of programming languages, distributed microservices, serverless computing, and performance engineering. Someone who makes the team both productive and fun to work in. Excited to learn from others while bringing your own novel capabilities and perspectives. Our team members thrive in a hands-on environment where everyone actively participates in product definition, technical architecture review, iterative development, code review, and operations.

Our customers are innovators, and you will have the chance to work with them to understand their challenges and design new offerings. Together, we’ll shape not just our own products, but the direction of the industry.

About the team

Diverse Experiences
Amazon values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.

Why AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that’s why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.

Work/Life Balance

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why flexible work hours and arrangements are part of our culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.

Inclusive Team Culture

Here at AWS, it’s in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.
