# Sr Software Development EngineerApply**Job#: 3045150****Job Description:**Sr Software Development Engineer**Location:** Seattle, WashingtonRole OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to serve as a technical leader on the Content Platform for Training Needs Analysis. This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence by establishing development standards, improving code quality, mentoring engineers, influencing architectural decisions, and leveraging AI to accelerate productivity. The position involves designing and implementing scalable services, introducing automated quality gates, defining reusable patterns and frameworks, and ensuring the platform is built on secure, maintainable, and reliable engineering practices.Key Responsibilities* Lead the design and implementation of Training Needs Analysis as the first digital product on the Content Platform.* Collaborate with the solution architect on architectural decisions for scalability and maintainability.* Serve as a technical mentor for engineers across the organization.* Define, document, and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, and design patterns.* Drive consistency through reusable frameworks, templates, and shared libraries.* Raise code quality through reviews, technical coaching, and automated quality gates in CI/CD.* Define and monitor quality metrics, including test coverage, technical debt, security, performance, and reliability.* Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and establish best practices for their use.* Improve platform observability, deployment automation, and operational excellence.* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.* Partner with Product Managers and Architects to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.* Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.Required Qualifications* Proven experience designing and building distributed, cloud-native applications.* Strong expertise in software architecture and object-oriented design.* Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.* Experience implementing automated testing strategies.* Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.* Demonstrated success mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.* Experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.* Proficiency in leading development of component-driven UI using React and leveraging libraries like Mantine or Chakra UI.* Experience in leading and developing in a modern backend runtime or language such as Node.js, Java, Go, or Python.* Experience using AI-assisted tools to rapidly prototype solutions.* Deep understanding of API design, implementation, and backend architecture.* Excellent communication and leadership skills.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in Seattle, WA, and requires the ability to be onsite five days per week. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
