Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and deliver DATUM, our WES/WCS platform. You will lead full-stack development across an event-driven microservices architecture, mentor team members, and collaborate with customers during commissioning, including travel.

You will work with open-source frameworks, Linux environments, and modern IDEs, Jira, and Azure DevOps to drive product growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in industrial software development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with open-source software frameworks and related development tools.
• Comfortable using the Linux command line and working with OS services/configurations.
• Proficient with modern IDEs, Git, and project management platforms such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Willing to travel roughly 15% to support customer commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP of Software to help develop and execute software product strategies and the product roadmap.
• Design, develop, and improve DATUM to support customer needs and continued product growth.
• Provide full stack design and development across an event-driven microservices architecture.
• Use modern open-source frameworks to build backend services, integrations, AI capabilities, and user interfaces.
• Lead design and development activities for customer projects and R&D initiatives using Agile practices.
• Mentor entry-level and mid-level developers and Software Delivery team members.
• Support the Software Delivery team with integrated system commissioning at customer sites, with ~15% travel.
• Contribute across development, implementation, support, and IT activities as needed.
• Evaluate performance data to identify improvements and adapt team practices.
• Support technical innovation and continuous learning by staying current on technologies.
• Represent DCS with professionalism and integrity.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Developer, you'll help design, develop, and deliver DCS's software products, including DATUM, our Warehouse Execution System and Warehouse Control System (WES/WCS). Reporting to the VP of Software, you'll contribute to research and development, customer projects, and the software product roadmap.

You'll bring hands-on technical expertise, lead design and development activities, and mentor developers and Software Delivery team members. You'll work across an event-driven microservices architecture using modern open-source technologies for backend services, integrations, artificial intelligence, and user interfaces. This role includes approximately 15% travel to support commissioning at customer sites.

• You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with customers, management, and teams across disciplines.
