Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Manufacturing and Supply Chain group, building the next generation of solutions for Petrochemical companies to optimize their value chain.

You will design and develop new features in collaboration with Product Management and Product Designers, contributing to modeling and optimization across engineering software applications.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields (Master’s degree is helpful, PhD preferred).
  • 5-8 years of experience in software for modeling, control and optimization of chemicals, oil & gas, and/or refining processes.
  • Strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and optimization.
  • Solid programming experience with C#/.NET; C++ experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate new and developing modeling and optimization technologies and determine how to leverage them into our software applications.
  • Provide technical leadership for software development projects related to mathematical modeling and optimization.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and support new and existing engineering software applications.
  • Actively contribute to technical and functional design sessions.
  • Provide creative solutions when dealing with technology challenges.
  • Participate in the maintenance and enhancement of the existing code bases.
  • Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, services, and customer support on customer activities.

The Role AspenTech is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Manufacturing and Supply Chain group, building the next generation of solutions for Petrochemical companies to optimize their value chain.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will help design and develop new features in collaboration with Product Management and Product Designers.

What You'll Need

  • Strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and optimization.
  • Solid computer programming and software development experience, with specific experience in C#/.NET.
  • Experience with C++ is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • English fluency (written and verbal) required.
