Responsibilities

Peraton has an opportunity for an experienced Sr. Software Developer. This position is remote.

This program supports a customer that develops, enhances, and expands defense system capabilities using the Scaled Agile Large Solution Framework (SAFe) processes. Responsibilities include vetting personnel for security access, maintaining clearances, and supporting insider threat mitigation efforts.

What you'll do:

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Support the development and sustainment of a software environment covering the entire Software Development Lifecycle using methodologies like Continuous Deployment, Agile, and DevOps.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud-based capabilities for software development, modification, and deployment.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to assess feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Coordinate with analysts and engineers to design software, considering project limitations and performance requirements.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems, utilizing scientific analysis and mathematical models.
• Coordinate software testing and deployment to meet specifications.
• Assist Scrum teams with technical expertise.
• Support software development best practices and quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate with government and client teams to ensure software interoperability and quality.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

What you'll need:

• 12 years with a BS/BA, 10 years with an MS/MA, or 8 years with a PhD.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience with AWS services, Git, CI/CD tools, and modernization to cloud.
• Experience with XML payloads, Web Services/RESTful APIs, Jira, Confluence, and databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in full stack development with Java, AWS ecosystem, and cloud-native solutions.
• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (can be obtained after starting).

Desired Skills:

• AWS Developer Associate Certification.
• Experience with virtualization, Docker/Kubernetes, Spring Boot, PKI, and XML/XSD manipulation.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and backend development.
