Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Sr Site Reliability Engineer (Automation & GCP) to drive the design, scaling, and operational modernization of critical enterprise cloud infrastructure. In this high-impact position, you will build resilient automation frameworks, manage complex cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and integrate cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities into Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operations.

In this role, you will balance hands‑on engineering execution with high-level architectural strategy. You will design self‑healing infrastructure, establish guardrail-driven workflows across CI/CD pipelines, and implement intelligent observability and remediation frameworks across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Automation Framework Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust automation frameworks using Python to manage the full lifecycle of complex cloud infrastructure.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and maintain enterprise IaC environments using Terraform and Terragrunt to ensure consistency, repeatability, and compliance across multi‑tenant environments.
• SRE Tooling & Workflow Integration: Build auditable, guardrail-driven continuous delivery workflows fully integrated with core engineering platforms, including Jira, Git version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• GCP AI/ML Solution Architecture: Design and deploy intelligent, cloud-native automation solutions on Google Cloud Platform to streamline monitoring, alerting, and operational remediation.
• Self‑Healing Infrastructure: Utilize GCP AI services, predictive analytics, and automated orchestration to enable proactive incident response, dynamic resource scaling, and self‑healing system workflows.
• Technical Advisory & Strategic Leadership: Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering teams and leadership, guiding best practices in GCP architecture, SRE principles, and AI‑driven DevOps automation.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

• Expert Python Engineering: Advanced proficiency in Python for developing CLI tools, operational scripts, and end‑to‑end infrastructure automation engines.
• IaC Mastery: Extensive experience architecting and managing enterprise‑scale cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Git & CI/CD Pipelines: Deep expertise in Git workflows (including complex branching strategies) and hands‑on experience building robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep GCP Expertise: Strong track record of designing and scaling enterprise architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP professional certification is a strong plus).
• AI/ML Operations: Experience integrating AI‑driven automation, Vertex AI, or ML pipelines to improve predictive capabilities, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Configuration Management: Proven ability to parse, validate, and standardize multi‑format configuration data (e.g., YAML, INI, HCL) within automated workflows.
• AI‑Ready System Design: Demonstrated capability in designing deterministic automation systems with explicit guardrails tailored for execution by AI agents and automated orchestration engines.
• Technical Leadership: Excellent communication and advisory skills, with a track record of translating complex technical strategy into clear execution models aligned with business goals.
