Job Title: Sr. Sensor System Oceanographic Engineer (Full Time)

Locations: Ft. Walton Beach, FLA / Auburn AL / Washington DC / Salt Lake City, UT / Lincoln, MA / Albuquerque, NM / Niceville, FLA / Remote

We are seeking an experienced Oceanic Engineer to support project leadership, analysis, procurement, installation, and site acceptance testing of an undersea sensor system at test ranges and coastal locations. Candidates should be self-starters, teachable, and able to learn quickly, working collaboratively to solve technical problems. Worldwide travel may be required.

Job Description
  1. Support conversion of customer requirements into system requirements for monitoring and surveillance of undersea instrumentation and electronics, ashore command and control, and sensor networks.
  2. Support planning, site preparation, integration, configuration, operations, and maintenance of sensor system health monitoring and environmental measurements.
  3. Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices.
  4. Provide engineering expertise in development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management.
  5. Support evaluation and integration of new capabilities.
  6. Collaborate with system, hardware, and software teams to design solutions.
  7. Work with test and sustainment teams to ensure requirements are met and systems are properly emplaced.
Candidate Requirements
  1. Strong desire to contribute to team success.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Required Experience and Skills
  1. Technical expertise in remote sensor systems.
  2. Bachelor's degree with 15 years or more of experience, or master's with 10 years, or doctorate with 5 years in Oceanic Engineering or Maritime Science.
  3. High proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  6. Motivated to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Qualifications of Interest
  1. Advanced degrees in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or oceanic sciences.
  2. Operational experience with sonar, GPS, acoustics, and undersea sensors.
  3. Networking and communications expertise, including VLF, optical communications.
  4. Knowledge of data standards, hardware integration, and environmental issues.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  6. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of leading deliverables involving others.

Must be a US Citizen; position requires obtaining a government security clearance.
