Title: Security Engineer

Duration: 3-6 Months Contract

Location: 100% Remote (must be local to CA)

Job Description:

Opportunity: Security Engineer to guide software engineering teams.

Responsibilities & Desired Skills
  • This position requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible information technology experience.
  • Proven experience in information security, cybersecurity, or related technical fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • A leader capable of solving sophisticated, undefined problems and driving ground-breaking change across teams and organizations.
  • Identifies potential security risks and vulnerabilities and develops strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Identifies, defines, and documents system security requirements and recommends solutions.
  • Configures, troubleshoots, and maintains security software, tools, and services including cloud security, vulnerability management, email security, SIEM tools, and endpoint protection.
  • Uses strong knowledge of attack techniques to develop and implement detection capabilities for indicators of compromise.
  • Evaluates vulnerabilities published by third-party vendors or media, assesses risk, and determines the best course of action.
  • Educates and trains staff on information security. Advocates security and secure practices.
