This is a 6-month contract position for a Senior Automation Test Engineer based in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks with expertise in Playwright, Selenium, Java, and modern CI/CD practices. Recent healthcare industry experience is required for this position. Candidates will participate in multiple interview rounds, including hands‑on coding assessments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks from scratch for web, API, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Java, Cypress, and CucumberJS.
• Lead automation initiatives and establish QA best practices, coding standards, and framework governance.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• Perform comprehensive UI, API, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
• Implement distributed test execution solutions to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, automation documentation, reporting, and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
  • Recent healthcare industry experience.
  • Strong expertise in Playwright.

  • Proven experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
