The US base salary range for this position is 128-210K+ benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Responsibilities
Under the leadership of an ARPA-H Portfolio Lead, the ideal candidate will be tasked to assist, support and provide advice to the Portfolio Lead to further the development, management, and progress of new and existing programs to meet ARPA-H’s mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone.
This SETA duties included but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough scientific evaluation of the current R&D landscape to identify gaps in research portfolios to address critical needs that are aligned with the ARPA-H mission.
- Monitor and track performers progress toward established metrics.
- Read and digest complex information and develop briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Creating PowerPoint slides and Excel files on the fly during meetings in high-pressure environments.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as collecting, sorting, analyzing, and writing internal programmatic reports/briefings on relevant topics in a health-related field.
- Some CONUS travel is expected (~10-20%) as needed to fully support the Program and Program Manager.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a PhD or MD or MD/PhD degree.
- Candidates must have hands-on experience in at least two (2) of the following or related scientific fields:
- Bioengineering
- OMICS (study of the structure and function of an organism's biomolecules and molecular processes, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc.)
- Wearable technologies, and/or
- Chemistry, especially in macrocyclic peptides.
- Candidates should have at least four (4) years of experience that may include but not limited to research, or other relevant roles at biotechnology companies.
- The candidate will be tasked to support the development and management of new and existing programs and have or be able to obtain a Public Trust.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, which include proficiency with key board shortcuts and ability to create PPT slides and Excel files on the fly.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Additional Experience
- The candidate should have strong logical and critical thinking skills and be able to critically review scientific and technical data.
- The candidate will be expected to integrate into an existing team to support current ARPA-H efforts and be able to operate independently and in a group environment in support of technical R&D efforts.
- Previous experience with basic and applied research and prior support to Program Managers in an R&D environment, is preferred.
- Professional curiosity, continuous drive for learning, and the ability to focus on assigned tasks are critical attributes of the ideal candidate.
