Job Title: Sr. Sales Executive

The Sr. Sales Executive will report to the Sr. Director, Head of Aetna Sales - Health and Benefits Department or Sales - Consumer Directed Benefits Department. This role is responsible for building our business in the national accounts, middle markets, small group markets, distribution channel, group insurance, and specialty products areas.

This role will also have the responsibility of developing relationships with the broker/consultant communities and direct planning sponsors in the assigned territory: Southern Jersey, Eastern PA, Delaware, Maryland, DC, and VA. Managing all business development efforts including marketing, communications, training, and competitive analysis. The candidate is expected to be active in the market, with travel to key markets as part of the strategy.

Requirements include:

  1. Sales and account management experience of 7+ years in the benefits, consulting, and financial services industry.
  2. Proven ability to identify and close profitable business opportunities and manage a defined territory.
  3. Ability to develop an extensive network within the investor community to generate leads, manage pipelines, and understand the assigned territory and services offered.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Cultivating strong relationships with brokers, consultants, clients, and peers, focusing on larger or complex accounts.
  2. Implementing strategies to achieve sales objectives in assigned areas.
  3. Managing complex negotiations.
  4. Positioning products and expanding product portfolios to increase sales and revenue.
  5. Managing client and internal organization integration to meet installation needs and close deals.
  6. Identifying partnership opportunities across the product spectrum.
  7. Understanding client needs and recommending suitable benefits.
  8. Promoting sales through in-person and virtual meetings, including industry conferences.
  9. Managing the entire sales process from lead generation to closing.
  10. Generating cross-selling opportunities by maintaining strong relationships with other lines of business.
  11. Updating Salesforce with pipeline information and relationship management details.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.
