Job description

Shermco Industries is seeking a Data Center Subject Matter Expert to work as Sr. Director of Tech Sales. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and a background in selling services to Data Centers, such as electrical engineering services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc. The role involves driving strategy and overseeing sales teams in the data center and semiconductor sectors. Travel is approximately 50%. Remote work is preferred in Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; or Northern VA. Other locations near major airports will be considered for strong candidates.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing sales team members and processes
  • Setting sales goals and quotas
  • Creating sales department budgets
  • Producing sales forecasts and reports
  • Researching market and competitors
  • Creating and implementing strategies for the Data Center and Semiconductor markets
  • Training, mentoring, and motivating sales staff
  • Collaborating with marketing on promotional materials
  • Building customer relationships
  • Developing comprehensive account plans with metrics and KPIs
  • Monitoring targets for the national sales department
  • Maintaining professional relationships with clients
  • Meeting with clients and account managers
  • Ensuring account management and client satisfaction
  • Supervising regional salespeople
  • Handling client queries and complaints
  • Promoting new services and products
  • Reporting on account status to senior management
  • Leading presentations for national accounts
  • Monitoring market trends and identifying new sales leads

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business management, or related field; relevant experience may substitute for degree
  • At least 5+ years of leadership and sales experience in Data Centers, preferably electrical engineering services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc.
  • Familiarity with Colocation (Colo), bridge power, and electrical infrastructure
  • Proven sales performance and understanding of sales metrics and technical indicators
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a client-focused mindset
