Shermco Industries is seeking a Data Center Subject Matter Expert to work in the capacity of Sr. Director of Tech Sales. To be considered for this role you must have leadership and experience selling services to Data Centers, ideally electrical engineering services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc. You will drive strategy and oversee our world-class teams of sales professionals in the data center and semiconductor sectors. Travel is at 50%. Ideally, we are seeking someone to work remotely in Phoenix AZ, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Seattle WA, or Northern VA. We will consider other locations for a strong candidate, provided you live close to a major airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all sales team members and processes
  • Setting sales goals and quotas
  • Creating the sales department budget
  • Producing sales forecasts and reports
  • Researching the market and competitors
  • Creating and driving the strategy for the Data Center and Semi-conductor markets
  • Training, mentoring, and motivating the sales team
  • Collaborating with the marketing department to develop effective promotional materials
  • Building relationships with customers
  • Develop comprehensive Account plans with trackable metrics and KPIs
  • Creating and monitoring targets for the national sales department.
  • Building a trusting and professional relationship with clients.
  • Meeting with clients and account managers.
  • Ensuring that all accounts are looked after and maintained.
  • Supervising and managing regional salespeople in your department.
  • Following up on complaints and queries on behalf of clients.
  • Promoting new services and products to clients in your department.
  • Reporting to senior management on the status of your accounts.
  • Taking a leading role in presentations for national accounts.
  • Monitoring and identifying market trends, competitors, and new sales leads.

Required Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business management, business science, or a related field. We will consider relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have 5+ years of leadership and experience selling services to Data Centers, ideally electrical engineering services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc. but we will consider other services or PM experience within a data center related to construction/infrastructure
  • Must be familiar with Colocation (Colo), bridge power, and electrical infrastructure
  • A sales background with a demonstrated history of sales performance.
  • A solid grasp of sales metrics, performance measures, and technical indicators.
  • A thorough aptitude for analysis and strategy.
  • Decisive thinking and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-relations skills.
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.
  • Dynamic and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong client-focused mindset
