Sr. Risk & Compliance Mgr, Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS)

Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Kuiper Government Solutions’ (KGS) mission is to leverage Kuiper and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers. This position will be working on KGS’ Business Operations team.

We are seeking a Sr. Risk & Compliance Mgr to support the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team focusing on global government customers. You are responsible for leading our effort to deliver a documented risk management approach for both US and global government customers. This approach will be scalable as KGS expands to deliver new products and services to multiple global government customers.

The person filling this role needs a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling risk management and compliance strategies in a written context. The successful candidate will be familiar with US Government acquisition guidelines (FAR/DFARS), have supported both US and international proposals and contracts, and be experienced with federal compliance requirements. The person filling this role must leverage their knowledge and skills to collaborate with a complex set of internal and external stakeholders to determine the right goals and inform decisions. The successful candidate will design long-term risk management solutions for KGS compliance, acquisition, and contract execution strategies.

Key job responsibilities

1. Leverage your familiarity with US Government acquisition guidelines (FAR/DFARS) and compliance requirements to develop acquisition and contract execution strategies applicable for US and international government customers.
2. Establish Risk Management Framework for KGS.
3. Develop and use deep industry background that enables you to engage and communicate effectively on a wide range of technical and business discussions with customers, partners, and internal Kuiper team members.
4. Leverage your expertise and judgment to work through and document strategy for KGS risk management and compliance, including relevant stakeholders.
5. Identify and assess risks associated with government contracts and implement a continuous risk monitoring process.
6. Identify and clear blockers with the right resources, escalating when appropriate.
7. Demonstrate leadership and ability to navigate through complex problems, weighing various priorities and options, and managing multiple options and constraints.
8. Communicate clearly and effectively to peers and leadership on the risk management plans, status, and critical issues.
9. Foster a constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and lead the resolution of contentious issues.
10. Drive adoption of best practices for operational excellence.
11. Accelerate progress by creating or optimizing multiple cross-team procedures to help KGS business scale.

Security Clearance - This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience.
• 6 + years experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level.
• Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship.
• Previous experience in operationalizing risk management and/or compliance obligations at a telecommunications or internet service provider.
