RTX's Raytheon RF & Microelectronics Center in McKinney, TX, is seeking a Sr. RF Test Engineer to join the Airborne Antenna Design Department and lead state-of-the-art microwave testing initiatives.

The role focuses on integrating and testing T/R microwave products, driving design-test improvements, and coordinating with factory, program, and customer teams to enable efficient production on-site in McKinney.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with microwave frequency transmit/receive functions and testing.
• Experience with RF design verification using test and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test state-of-the-art Transmit/Receive (T/R) microwave products (e.g., modules, TRIMMs, planar arrays).
• Lead test integration teams to stand up RF microwave test capabilities for increased production.
• Interface with factory, program, and customer personnel to implement product and test station design improvements.
• Support factory troubleshooting, analyze defect trends, and implement process improvements aligned with production needs.
• Lead test integration activities on-site to enable scalable production.

Raytheon’s RF & Microelectronics Center is responsible for full-scope Independent Design, Verification & Validation (IV&V) solutions for microwave products, including architecture trades, design, layout, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of antenna systems and associated integrated system verification solutions. Within the RF & Microelectronics Center, the Airborne Antenna Design Department is a team of engineers responsible for electrical design and development of RF products within Raytheon. Our charter is to provide expertise in sub-systems engineering, RF and radome design, digital apertures, antenna ranges and module tests.

This position is an onsite role, located in McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do:

• Integrate and Test state-of-the-art Transmit/Receive (T/R) microwave products (modules, TRIMMs, planar arrays, etc).
• Implement best practice standards with regard to the planning, coordination, and implementation of microwave design and test with sound engineering process discipline and leadership.
• Interface with factory, program, and customer personnel to implement product and test station design improvements.
• Support factory troubleshooting, analyze product defect trends, and implement process/product improvements in alignment with factory and program production needs.
• Lead test integration teams in standing up RF microwave test capabilities for increased production.
• This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in McKinney, TX.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:

• Experience with microwave frequency transmit/receive functions.
• Experience with compact range or near field probe testing of RF products.
• Experience interfacing with engineering technicians and production personnel.Design experience leading to production of microwave components
• Experience using Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Mentor Graphics Xpedition and MATLAB.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• RF/Microwave Design Verification Test (DVT) experience with network/spectrum analyzers and/or antenna measurement systems.
• Experience using Keysight ADS and Mentor Graphics Xpedition design software.
• Experience with PWB and CCA processes for hybrid designs incorporating digital, power, and RF circuitry.
• Experience with engineering RF requirements development and verification.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
