Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is contract position, expected to end in Jan 2026. This role is 100% remote. Candidates must live in US, Canada or Bogota Colombia to be considered.

• Own global revenue recognition process, mainly percent complete revenue recognition, for the assigned Business Units which includes timely and accurately completing close activities, preparing journal entries, and providing the backup support.
• Prepare unbilled accounts receivable and deferred revenue accounting entries and reconciliations to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Review customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 as well as confirming they are set up properly for invoicing and revenue recognition in the appropriate entities within ERP (Sage Intacct soon to be Oracle Fusion).
• Ensure compliance and proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and any related guidance.
• Ensure the consistent practice and application of the Company’s revenue accounting policies, with attention to areas requiring judgment and estimates.
• Partner with Finance, Commercial Operations, Project Management, Legal, Sales Operations, and Business Development on assessing correct revenue recognition based on contract.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate financial internal controls related to revenue recognition.
• Provide data for external auditors in year-end audit matters related to revenue.
• Perform multiple tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.
• Maintain process documentation for areas of responsibility.
• Opportunities to participate in Finance & Accounting shared projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
• 3 years progressive accounting experience; CRO industry experience will be a plus.
• Superior Excel skills required.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, ideally in Project Based Services (POC) and/or SaaS will be a plus.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, change direction quickly and prioritize workload
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Oracle Fusion a plus
