The Revenue Accounting Team holds key responsibilities for worldwide revenue, contract reviews and has ownership for rebate programs. We have controls around each of these critical components along with driving financial reporting following Seagate’s business practices and revenue recognition standard.
The Senior Revenue Accountant role is a high visibility position, collaborating with global partners within the Seagate organization to provide valuable information to make critical business decisions. This role is expected to utilize technical accounting expertise to support revenue processes, including monthly financial statement close, review of revenue transactions for appropriate revenue treatment, participation in revenue arrangement structuring, annual audit, system implementation, and performance and documentation of the related SOX controls.
Responsibilities:
• Review revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and related US GAAP pronouncements and Company policy.
• Participate in monthly and quarterly close activities including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, flux analyses, and related reporting and disclosures.
• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies and best practices in revenue processes.
• Support contract negotiation processes through providing accounting guidance and recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional business partners to support special projects related to revenue initiatives, including system implementation and process improvements.
• Ensure that revenue related internal controls are performed and documented appropriately.
• Prepare internal and external auditor deliverables for quarterly and annual audit requirements.
• Passion for driving business decisions by analyzing large and complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Thrives in working in team environment but also works well independently.
• Have strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Progressive financial and accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with Oracle, SAP S4/HANA, Tableau, and Salesforce.
• Highly adaptable with great attention to detail and takes proactive approach to problem solving.
• Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross-functional organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
While not required, it’s an added plus if you have:
• A CPA.
• Focus on technology clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline or equivalent experience.

This position is hybrid - 2 days a week on-site

The estimated base salary range for this position is $96,000 - $137,500. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
