$10K Hiring Incentive Eligible, for New Talent or Eligible Parkland Rehire (with 1+ year term date)

Primary Purpose:

A Registered Nurse (RN) with 2 or more years of experience. The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, focusing on specific patient populations or health conditions, by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN assists patients through healthcare encounters without preventable complications or delays, delegating interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.

Job Summary:
  • Provides care for assigned patient population according to Texas Nurse Practice Act, protocols, and standards.
  • Performs continuous assessment, consults with team members, and provides patient-centered care.
  • Exercises independent judgment in nursing care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Provides direction to non-nursing staff, serves as preceptor, and on rotation as Charge Nurse.
  • Prepares and conducts in-service educational programs.
  • Demonstrates patient-centered behaviors.
  • Knowledge of nursing standards for specialty care as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • ASN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Texas RN license or equivalent, without restrictions.
  • At least 2 years of RN experience in an emergency department or high-acuity hospital setting.
  • Experience managing emergencies including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and trauma cases preferred.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:

*All certifications must be valid for more than 30 days from the start date.

  • Current BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.
  • Current ACLS or ALS certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.
  • Current PALS or ENPC certification.
  • Current TNCC or ATCN certification.
