Job summary

BCBST is seeking a Senior React Native Mobile App Developer to design, build, and support customer‑facing enterprise mobile apps for iOS and Android. You will join the Mobile Solutions team, writing clean JavaScript/TypeScript, building reusable components, and optimizing performance across devices.

You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams in a fast‑paced, remote role aligned to Eastern hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
• 1 year - IT concepts, development methodology, terminology, standards.
• 5 years - Systems and programming experience.
• 1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language used at BCBST.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact‑finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
• Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
• Develops and implements program/system test plans. Devises data verification methods and standard system procedures.
• Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
• May conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and support management in budgeting and purchasing efforts.
• Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.

We are hiring aSenior React Native Mobile App Developer on ourMobile Solutionsteam at BCBST!

In this role, you will design, build, and support customer‑facing enterprise mobile applications that power critical user experiences across iOS and Android platforms. You’ll work in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment, partnering with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable and high‑performing solutions using React Native. This role requires a hands‑on engineer who can write clean, maintainable JavaScript/TypeScript code, develop reusable components, and optimize application performance across devices. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems, integrate APIs and third‑party services, and contribute to engineering best practices through code reviews and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, in addition to the core job requirements, you’ll bring strong cross‑platform mobile development expertise, a deep understanding of React architecture and state management, and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset. You will be a strong candidate for this role if you have experience publishing apps to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, working with native integrations such as push notifications, biometrics, and device APIs, and using tools like Postman or Fiddler for API debugging. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, or Java), and a passion for staying current with emerging mobile technologies will set you apart.

Note:

• This is a remote, work‑from‑home position aligned to Eastern working hours.

• This is remote, work‑from‑home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on‑site in our Chattanooga, TN office.

• This role includes an on‑call rotation of 1 week every 6–7 weeks.

• 1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST.
