We are hiring a Sr. Research & Development Technician located in Sidney OH. This position, under limited supervision, is responsible for the support of Research & Development groups in the areas of new product development, product improvement, cost reduction, product maintenance, lab operations and maintenance, sensory testing and technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares experimental formulas, processing techniques, and product documentation with guidance from scientists or engineers.
  • Assists with sensory testing, including ingredient preparation and documentation of results.
  • Coordinates and documents test runs, troubleshooting issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Maintains lab operations, equipment, inventory, and records; arranges repairs and calibrations as needed.
  • Documents project information, summarizes findings, and reports potential issues according to established procedures.
  • Prepares and ships ingredients, samples, and finished goods for testing, evaluation, and customer review.
  • Trains and mentors’ technicians, manages time and tasks, and leads portions of projects while analyzing and recommending improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills and solid mathematical skills including algebra, percentage, fractions, and word problems.
  • Ability to create and work with simple to complex worksheets.
  • Ability to operate and calibrate R&D laboratory instruments and basic R&D lab and pilot plant equipment.
  • Ability to taste and ingest any type of food product currently under development.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $18.90 - $33.00 per hour. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
