Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Purpose

This is a fully onsite position located in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for performing functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set‑up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control and works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Nature of Duties
  • Investigates product nonconformities. Works with applicable personnel including internal departments, suppliers, and/or customers to develop root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinates replacement of defective/suspect products. Maintains RMA and RTV logs.
  • Supports customer first build runs.
  • Performing product inspections per internal, customer, and industry requirements as assigned based on training and experience at both Houston locations. This may include:
    • Dimensional and Visual Inspection of mechanical and electrical parts from internal and external suppliers (including Outside Process) using scopes and hand gages, such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, and GO/NOGO Gauges.
    • Dimensional and Visual Inspections in support of internal machining to verify conformance to requirements using CMM and gages, such as MicroHite, Optical Comparator, Bore Gages, Gage Maker, and assorted hand gages.
Non-essential functions and duties
  • Initiating and participating in continuous improvement processes.
  • Following the safety procedures of the organization.
  • Following the 5S procedures for the work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 4+years of related experience with a High School Diploma.(A minimum of 8 years of experience is strongly preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, customer standards, and purchase order requirements
  • Must have the basic knowledge and experience with computers to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
  • Requires excellent attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments and tools.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009.
  • Requires good time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Defense/Aerospace Experience Preferred
Language skills
  • Ability to read and interpret training documents, safety rules, procedural documents, and blueprints.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and purchase order requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Work requires a good command of the English language
Reasoning ability
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
