Job summary

Dover Corporation in Lonsdale, MN is seeking a Sr. Quality Specialist to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing, from blueprint review to final inspection.

You will train teams, lead calibration, review drawings, perform radiography, and collaborate with engineering to resolve defects, driving continuous improvement. This onsite role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to impact production excellence.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs.
  • 3-5 years QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Welding knowledge required.
  • VT Certification and/or BT and RT Level 2 certifications required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills – A3 certification.
  • Basic math skills to calibrate and measure specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards and measuring dimensions.
  • Ensure the manufacturing adheres to quality standards and procedures and complies with quality requirements.
  • Review blueprints and BOM specifications to compare to manufactured products.
  • Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and entering data into quality database.
  • Train production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Propose improvements to the production process.
  • Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and obtaining required repairs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and radiographs.
  • Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensional measurements of product.
  • Test functional performance of system and sub-assemblies.
  • Examine weld joints to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter and undercuts.
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data.
  • Assist in developing test methods and inspection plans.
  • Determine causes of product defects and reworks.
  • Verify equipment is calibrated correctly.
  • Collaborates with engineering, production and other departments to resolve problems.
  • Label equipment with tags and serial numbers.
  • Maintains VT and BT for staff.
  • Provides RT approval for radiograph inspections.

Education & Experience
