About This Role
As a NDT Tech Lead, you will lead a team of radiographers, perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions. You will interpret weld requirements from various standards including Military Standard 2035, AWS Specifications, and ASME Section IV.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment.
  • Participate in Radiation Safety Programs.
  • Ensure controlled work or radiation areas.
  • Calibrate radiographic testing equipment.
  • Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities.
  • Establish examination techniques for welds, adhering to safety rules.
  • Apply testing criteria per standards and evaluate results.
  • Interpret radiographs.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Maintain and submit radiation reports.
  • Perform specialized inspections as needed.
  • Train and provide direction to team members, including leadership duties.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education: Associates or vocational degree preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of related NDT and/or Radiographer Level II experience.
  • 2+ years as a lead radiographer.
  • Technical proficiency in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret inspection results effectively.
  • Obtain Level II certifications within 6 months, including ASNT and Louisiana dual certifications.
  • Knowledge of PT and VT; additional NDT methods are a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

Physical Demands: Must meet physical requirements including movement, dexterity, and ability to perform medium physical work involving lifting up to 60 lbs, as detailed in the job analysis.
