Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center seeks a qualified Sr. Quality Manager to lead the F100 and F117 inspection teams with a focus on QMS, RCCA, data analysis and project management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience to include leading teams, quality or manufacturing or operations and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Degree and 7 years of experience to include leading teams, quality or manufacturing or operations and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading product or process non-conformance investigations (i.e., DIVEs).
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action experience.
  • Experience with AS9100/AS9110 standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in Solumina G8 or equivalent Engine Maintenance System.
  • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis using Excel.
  • Experience driving UPPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans).
  • Continuous Improvement, Lean and Six-sigma.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of leadership; both written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise quality inspection teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and schedules.
  • Coach employees to develop a motivated, effective team and address performance issues.
  • Lead process improvement opportunities using Lean strategies to enhance quality.
  • Implement root‑cause corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
  • Meet and track the operation schedule for quality functions and plan contingencies.
  • Modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Evaluate technical data and work instructions in support of Engineering and Operations.
  • Identify and manage risk using UPPAP core elements to propose risk management solutions.
  • Conduct investigations and develop corrective-action recommendations for nonconformities.

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is seeking a qualified Sr. Quality Manager. Candidates should possess experience in MRO Repair Station/Engine Center, Quality Management Systems (QMS), RCCA, Data Analysis, Technical Review, Inspection Methods, as well as Project Management.

This position will provide supervision, leadership and support to the Quality F100 and F117 BX and CX inspection teams, CMM, NDT and Bearings and Seals. The Quality Manager will ensure smooth and efficient operation of the quality processes. This will require active searching for opportunities to enhance the quality processes and the product using a variety of problem‑solving techniques, effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with technical competencies. The Quality Manager will promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all assigned personnel. This role reports to the MECOE Quality Manager.

Other focus areas are to develop relationships within MECOE operational functions. The goal is to create a trusting relationship with an emphasis on rapid problem resolution, removing waste and variability from processes and improving quality and delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Evaluate technical data and work instructions in support of Engineering and Operations.
  • Identifies and manages risk utilizing and driving UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify risk in product development and propose risk management solutions.
  • Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities.
  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.
  • Promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
