Responsibilities

  • Identify, segregate, and disposition nonconforming materials; initiate MRB/NCRs.
  • Apply status labels to inspected materials per QMS procedures.
  • Maintain quality records to meet traceability requirements.
  • Maintain calibration equipment and coordinate maintenance.
  • Coordinate calibration and preventive maintenance programs.

Job description

Levita Magnetics is transforming minimally invasive surgery through Magnetic Surgery® and its surgical robot MARS™. We operate in a lean, fast-paced environment with a growing pipeline of innovative products focused on improving surgical outcomes and patient care.

We are seeking a Sr Quality Inspector to be responsible for supporting the quality and compliance of incoming materials, components, and subassemblies used in the manufacture of Levita Magnetics. This position performs receiving inspections and documents results in accordance with established procedures, coordinates calibration activities, and supports quality record review within controlled environments. All work is performed in compliance with applicable internal quality management system (QMS) procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and attribute inspections of parts using standard measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, etc.) per approved inspection plans, drawings, and acceptance criteria.
  • Verifying Device History Records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, ensuring products meet specifications and supporting release decisions.
  • Verify certificates of conformance, material certifications, and supplier documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify, segregate, and disposition nonconforming materials; initiate Material Review Board (MRB) or nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Apply appropriate status labels (accepted, rejected, on hold) to inspected materials per QMS procedures.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion and maintenance of quality records to meet traceability and record retention requirements.
  • Maintaining receiving inspection equipment and ensuring quality control equipment is calibrated.
  • Coordinating calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
Location

Location: Mountain View, California (On-site position only)

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of QC inspection experience in a regulated medical device
  • Prior experience in a calibration coordination role is a plus.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug/ring gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Daily attire must always comply with Controlled Environment Room (CER) requirements
  • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing while performing tasks for extended periods of time.

The salary range for this position is from $33-38/hour.
