Job summary

System One, including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., seeks a Sr. Quality Engineer to design automated API tests and drive testing for Kafka-based systems across multiple sites in the US. The role emphasizes building robust test plans and collaborating with product teams to define acceptance criteria.

You will contribute to regression testing, log defects, and implement efficient automation strategies in an Agile environment. Experience with Selenium, Kafka, and SQL ETL testing is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as automation quality engineer in an Agile team.
• 4+ years of test automation using Selenium with JAVA (Mandatory).
• 3+ years testing within Kafka streaming platform (Mandatory).
• 4+ years developing, maintaining & executing automated regression tests for web and backend apps.
• 3+ years writing SQL scripts and ETL testing.
• Hands on with Jira / Xray / Confluence.
• Experience with BDD frameworks.
• Experience managing code repositories using Azure DevOps, Git or SVN.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high quality automated API tests for applications.
• Develop and manage software test plans, and traceability.
• Write high quality regression test plans for application under validation.
• Provide manual and automation testing estimates during discover and sprint planning phases of development lifecycle.
• Investigate automated & manual test failures to ensure application correctness, update automated test scripts as needed.
• Replicate prod defects in the lower environments, log defects in defect management system for resolution.
• Provide issue walkthroughs to the developers or software engineers.
• Automate repetitive validation tasks in browser based/ API based test automation products.
• Report testing results/ metrics to the QA manager and other project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Over 5+ years of experience working as an automation quality engineer in an Agile team.
• 4+ years of test automation experience using Selenium with JAVA (Mandatory).
• Experience in managing code repositories and versions using Azure DevOps, GIT or SVN.
• 4+ years Hands on with SOAP UI.
• 3+ years Hand on experience in testing within Kafka streaming platform (Mandatory).
• Experience developing tests using BDD frameworks.
• 4+ years of experience developing maintaining & executing automated regression tests for web and backend applications.
• 3+ years of experience writing SQL scripts and ETL Testing.
• Hands on Experience with Jira / Xray / Confluence.
• Good understanding of Agile project management/ DevOps tools
