Job summary

EXL in the Dallas area is seeking a QA Engineer with strong Kafka expertise to design and execute end-to-end test plans for streaming data pipelines. The role requires hands-on work with Oracle and Mongo databases and proficiency with Postman, Git, and CI automation.

The candidate will verify data serialization, implement test scenarios for producers/consumers, and collaborate in Agile ceremonies using Jira/Confluence and X-ray.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Kafka topics, partitions, consumers, producers, and security.
• Hands-on with Oracle and Mongo; write queries based on mapping logic.
• Experience with message testing (JSON, Avro, Kafka).
• Knowledge of Kafka client configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CI and automated testing.
• Verify data serialization/deserialization, and data validation.
• Design, develop and execute test plans and scenarios for Kafka functionality.
• Working knowledge of Postman, Git, Jira/Confluence, X-ray.

Job Description:

• Strong understanding of Kafka concepts, including topics, partitions, consumers, producers, and security.
• Hands‑on required on Oracle and Mongo - able to write queries based on mapping logic.
• Must have Message testing experience (JSON, Avro, Kafka etc).
• Strong in Kafka client configuration and troubleshooting Kafka issues.
• Experience in continuous integration and automated testing.
• Able to verify the integrity of data flowing through Kafka, including data serialization/deserialization, and data validation.
• Design, Develop and execute test plans and scenarios to verify Kafka functionality, including data production, consumption, and message processing.
• Working knowledge and experience of Postman, Git.
• Agile ceremonies, X-ray and Jira/Confluence experience
