About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Supervisor to join our team in Van Wert, Ohio, within the Danfoss Power Solutions segment. This role will be responsible for leading quality engineering activities and continuous improvement initiatives to meet plant and customer quality objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, problem-solving, team leadership, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer DPPM and product audit performance.
- Identify top quality issues using data analytics and implement actions to address root causes.
- Lead efforts to reduce the cost of poor quality, including scrap, rework, repair, and warranty-related costs.
- Prevent the use of nonconforming materials and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are in place.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to develop PFMEAs, control plans, MSA, and process capability methods.
- Lead structured problem-solving using tools such as Six Sigma, 8D, and CAPA to address internal and external quality issues.
- Deploy risk mitigation activities across the value stream to proactively identify potential quality risks.
- Foster supplier and customer relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide leadership and direction to quality department staff, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Present monthly quality performance reviews and track the progress of improvement projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings, GD&T, control plans, PFMEAs, job instructions, and statistical methods.
- Hands-on experience with inspection and testing equipment.
- Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools: PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.
Preferred
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE).
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Certified internal auditor (IATF 16949 preferred).
- Experience in ISO-certified QMS environments.
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
- SAP experience (ERP system).
