Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Sr Project Superintendent to plan, coordinate, and supervise field and administrative project operations on the second shift (4:00 pm - midnight). You will drive safety, cost control, productivity, and quality for projects ranging from $51–199 million, with 10–15+ years of experience expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Assist in review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders and POs.
Conduct weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subs; prepare daily field reports.
Coordinate design conflicts and clarifications with relevant personnel.
Develop and manage the construction plan for successful execution of work.
Ensure work is executed profitably according to contract terms.
Interact with owners, teams and stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment.
Prepare and update the CPM schedule; use LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
Provide leadership to the project team and subcontractors.
Ensure project success in profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement Project Quality and Safety plans per Sundt standards.
Complete punch lists and schedule commissioning with owner as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr Project Superintendent (PS) will work the second shift (4:00 pm - midnight) and plan, coordinate, and supervise the field and/or administrative operations of projects. They will provide technical direction and have responsibility for the safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of the work (including self-performed work) for the project(s). The PS will establish productivity goals and measure performance as well as schedule labor, materials, and equipment, including the work of subcontractors and may supervise one or more field superintendents. This position includes 'steps', which provide for a progression of skill and experience. - Sr. Project Superintendent I is capable of fairly large projects of $51-$100 million in size with typically 10-15 years' experience. - Sr. Project Superintendent II is capable of larger projects of a complex nature and/or multiple projects totaling $100-$199 million and typically with a minimum of 15 years' of experience.

Coordinates the documentation of design conflicts and clarifications with the appropriate personnel.
Develops and manages the construction plan for the successful execution of the work performed.
Ensures work is executed according to contract terms and conditions in a profitable manner.
Interacts effectively with owners, teams and other stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.
Prepares and updates the original CPM Project Schedule and ensures the schedule is kept current to manage the project appropriately while utilizing LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
Provides leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors.
Responsible for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to Sundt standards.
Responsible for the timely completion of all punch lists and develops a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.

Minimum Job Requirements

Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.
Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods), negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
Must work the 2nd shift (4:00 pm - midnight) and have construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
