Trileaf serves the wireless communications, commercial real estate, financial, and petroleum industries from its headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and multiple branch offices throughout the U.S.

Job Summary:

Trileaf is seeking a full-time, Senior Project Scientist with at least 5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on commercial real estate or telecommunication projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). This position will be based out of Trileaf’s Schaumburg, IL office.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Travel to project locations, take detailed notes and photographs of sites.
2. Conduct interviews in person, via email, and phone.
3. Order and analyze government database records.
4. Perform regulatory agency file reviews.
5. Review historical data, including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs.
6. Draft standardized reports using information from various sources.
7. Perform final (EP) review of due diligence reports.
8. Conduct QA/QC to meet management and client satisfaction.
9. Complete requested revisions and submit reports within established timelines.
10. Conduct fieldwork to collect samples of potentially contaminated media (soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air).
11. Compare analytical contaminant data to regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience:

• NEPA Assessments
• Licensed Asbestos Inspector
• Management experience
• Mold assessment experience
• Property Condition Assessments (ASTM E2018)
• Transaction Screen Assessments (ASTM E1528)
• Record Search with Risk Assessments (SBA SOP 50 10 6)
• Environmental Professional (EP) certification

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography, or related fields.
