Job summary

Consumers Energy in Jackson, MI is seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to manage complex EPC project schedules. The role combines onsite and hybrid work, with Monday/Tuesday/Thursday onsite requirements at the Parnall Office.

The ideal candidate will have formal scheduling training, Primavera/P6 proficiency, and relevant PMI/AACE certifications. A bachelor’s or equivalent with several years of scheduling experience is expected.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field with 4 years of project scheduling experience.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field with 6 years of project scheduling experience.
  • High School Diploma with 8 years of project scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded project schedules to support workforce planning, forecasting, budget management, and project execution.
  • Lead scheduling for the entire project lifecycle, collect actuals, assess progress, update forecasts, and ensure detailed engineering/construction scheduling.
  • Lead project schedule forecasts and analyses, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling issues and provide proactive recommendations.
  • Prepare complex visual management reports, charts and tables for project analysis.

Location

This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Parnall Office located in Jackson, MI. Other locations may be considered. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Senior Project Scheduler will perform complex project scheduling assignments, which require the creation and monitoring, and technical project scheduling knowledge of a engineering, procurement and Construction project (EPC). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within area of responsibility. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work on complex projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded project schedules to support workforce planning, forecasting, budget management, and project execution
  • Drive tasks required to develop and maintain project schedules for the entire Life Cycle of a Project; includes collecting actual quantities installed per schedules, assess progress data supplied by others, and visual inspection. Develop very detailed engineering and construction schedules with construction management. Update the schedule forecast to reflect most current plans/requirements
  • Lead Project Management through preparation and maintenance of project schedule forecasts and project schedules
  • Calculate/prepare various complex comparison visual management, reports, charts, and tables for project analysis
  • Interface with other cross functional organizations to provide project scheduling data for items such as sub contract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential schedule/work problems
  • Lead project schedule analysis, with proactive scheduling recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of Primavera/P6 Skillset
  • Knowledge of general project scheduling, and schedule quality principles
  • Communicating in a project team setting
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related with 4 years of experience in project scheduling
  • [OR] Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related with 6 years of experience in project scheduling
  • [OR] High School Diploma with 8 years of experience in project scheduling
Certifications
  • Required Certifications/Licensures:(PMI or AACE)
