Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an experienced USH Project Scheduler to lead the USH Project Scheduling Portfolio. You will develop, integrate, and monitor comprehensive master schedules across multiple projects, providing controls advisements and progress analysis for senior management decisions.

You will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams, manage resources and earned value tracking, and participate in planning meetings to ensure schedule certainty and on-time delivery of shows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/construction management or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years engineering/construction planning and scheduling experience.
  • 5+ years theme park planning/coordination experience preferred; or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5+ years of Primavera scheduling experience.
  • Proven prior project controls leadership, supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares project life cycle and project master schedules using Primavera; develops integrated project master schedules.
  • Provides schedule guidance during all phases of the project and coordinates with estimating/finance for scope and durations.
  • Leads planning meetings, tracks progress, evaluates variances, and develops work-around plans.
  • Produces reports and supports leadership with schedule-related insights and earned value tracking.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the USH Project Scheduling Portfolio including developing, establishing, and integrating comprehensive project plans and schedules throughout the project’s lifecycle. You will be responsible for initiating, integrating, monitoring and preparing status for internal and/or external project schedules into a comprehensive program or integrated project master schedule. This includes providing project controls advisements and progress analysis for senior management decision making, as well as tracking current and future resources and production progress based on the Integrated Master Schedule. Scope of planning and scheduling responsibilities include development/establishment of project schedules, show/ride concept development, show, ride, facility, area development designs, building construction, show/ride production, installation, and commissioning stages.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares project life cycle and project master schedules and statuses the project schedules utilizing Primavera software. Develops comprehensive plans and schedules from multiple discipline drawings and specifications. Prepares project plans and works with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules. Prepares schedule contract milestones for bid packages.
  • Provides project team with Schedule guidance during all phases of the project. Coordinates with estimating/finance teams to develop appropriate level of detail scope definition and durations for schedule activities to support project monitoring and project controls reporting needs. Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and responsible project team members to develop and integrate activity durations and logic sequences required to perform project work. Integrates project schedule input from all internal and external project organizations.
  • Leads planning and coordination meetings as required to support planning and monitoring functions. Collects/reports progress, evaluates progress variances, develops work-around plans, and coordinates resolution of variances. Conducts resource loading/resource analysis and develops and statuses earned value tracking tools and progress curves as required. Produces reports as required to support project team and leadership reporting. Frequently communicates, reports, and interacts with project and core team members including vendors and outside consultants on complex topics.
  • Contributes to highly effective project control tools and reports and provides insightful analysis that contributes to schedule certainty.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Work with Creative Studio to develop Conceptual schedules for proposed projects. Develop workflow sequences based on historical information when detailed design information is not available.
  • Provides guidance for other USH Project Schedulers, leading entire USH portfolio while owning major projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years engineering/construction planning and scheduling experience required.
  • 5+ years theme park planning/coordination experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of primavera scheduling experience required.
  • Proven prior project controls leadership, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Possess strong understanding of design and construction progress measurement.
  • Working knowledge of architectural/engineering and show and ride design and production.
  • Must be a well-organized self-starter with strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of practical project controls applications and earned value measurement.
  • Ability to coordinate staff, consultants, and suppliers including setting goals, prioritization of tasks, coordinating work, and managing time.
  • Solid meeting leadership, facilitation, and alignment skills.
  • Solid communication, collaboration, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully influence and guide a team.
  • Ability to negotiate schedule changes with vendors and contractors.
  • Basic conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of planning techniques.
